We are partnered with a powerhouse in biomedical research. Founded in 2015, this London-based institute tackles major health challenges like cancer and infectious diseases. Employing over 1,500 researchers, they collaborate with pharmaceutical giants like GSK and AstraZeneca to bring groundbreaking discoveries from the lab to potential cures.
We are seeking a talented Network Engineer (Core) to join their team, taking charge of the network infrastructure during an exciting period of transformation. The current engineer has been promoted to Network Projects Lead, opening up this opportunity for a skilled individual to step into a pivotal role.
This is a hybrid role with an expected 2 days per week in the office (Tues & Thurs), in Kings Cross.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain our network infrastructure, including Cisco estate transitioning to Aruba.
- Implement and support Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco Data Center Network, Cisco Campus Network, ISE to Clearpass migration, Aruba Wireless, and Infoblox for DDI solution.
- Oversee the replacement of the entire edge network as part of a multi-million-pound project.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on network automation initiatives, leveraging Python where necessary.
- Support a mega-site at Kings Cross and two new laboratory sites being built in the same location.
Requirements:
- CCNP level certification with extensive experience in networking.
- Strong knowledge of routing & switching, campus networks, edge switching, and firewalls.
- Ability to hit the ground running and manage both projects and support tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with Cisco Nexus switches, Palo Alto firewalls, and Aruba wireless solutions.
- Experience with network automation tools and scripting languages, particularly Python.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid environment, with 2 days per week in the office at Kings Cross.
