Responsibilities:

  • Oversee multiple campus-level projects, maintaining updated budgets, schedules, and status reports.
  • Communicate monthly updates on development program and project status to executive teams.
  • Develop a comprehensive master development program, including design and capital budgets for sites.
  • Manage entitlement and permitting needs for assigned projects.
  • Implement multi-phase site development plans to meet time, budget, and quality objectives.
  • Write scopes of work for design, construction, and commissioning services; participate in procurement processes.
  • Evaluate pricing proposals for design, construction, and commissioning services.
  • Coordinate with procurement teams on equipment purchasing and delivery schedules.
  • Monitor project budgets and track costs against the overall project budget.
  • Establish and manage project schedules to ensure timely completion.
  • Approve monthly pay applications from contractors and negotiate change order pricing.
  • Ensure proper security procedures are in place for construction sites in collaboration with site security teams.
  • Develop deployment plans and communicate them with internal teams.
  • Collaborate with Sales Engineers and Product teams to design customized solutions for clients.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with QTS stakeholders.
  • Represent QTS interests during OAC meetings and lead efforts to maintain a leadership position in data center real estate.
  • Support due diligence efforts for potential new sites.
  • Work to enhance internal project management processes and protocols.

Skills/Must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial construction practices, including managing Lump Sum, Construction Management @ Risk, and Design Build project delivery methods.
  • Proven experience in data center development, from conceptual development to project closeout.
  • Strong communication skills, including proficiency in PowerPoint for executive-level updates and Excel for budgeting.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or Master’s degree in Engineering, Management, or a related field.
