Responsibilities:
- Perform hardware installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, including servers, storage systems, PDUs, and networking equipment.
- Carry out rack and stack duties, cabling, and structured build work for new and existing deployments.
- Provide remote hands support for customers, including reboots, component swaps, cabling checks, and diagnostics.
- Support both internal teams and external customers through ticket- and email-based communication.
- Assist with customer hardware deployments onsite, ensuring clean, accurate, and secure installation.
- Monitor and maintain data centre infrastructure in line with operational standards.
- Contribute to process improvements, documentation, and small internal development tasks.
- Participate in data centre tours and customer visits as required.
- Collaborate closely with a multi-shift operations team to ensure smooth 24/7 facility coverage.
Skills/Must have:
- Background in IT support, data centre operations, or related technical environment.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Hardware installation and troubleshooting
- Cabling and rack setup
- Basic Linux command-line usage
- Strong understanding of physical infrastructure components (servers, PDUs, power, cooling basics).
- Ability to work independently and follow precise operational procedures.
- Fluent in German (customer-facing requirement).
- Comfortable working with ticketing systems and written communication.
- Must be willing to perform physical tasks such as lifting equipment, installing hardware, and navigating data hall spaces.
