Responsibilities:
- Providing first-line response for building services infrastructure and escalating to specialist contractors when required.
- Ensuring the successful execution of planned and reactive maintenance across electrical and mechanical building systems.
- Acting as the HV Authorised Person (AP) and taking responsibility for high-voltage switching and associated planning activities.
- Managing and supporting the Site Engineering team, including day-to-day coordination and people management responsibilities.
- Supporting Data Centre and Site Management teams with communication, technical information, and operational coordination.
- Coordinating plant start-ups and shutdowns following major maintenance or repair activities.
- Monitoring the Building Management System (BMS) and ensuring appropriate responses to system alarms.
- Coordinating daily on-site staffing resources and ensuring effective communication between operational teams.
- Ensuring operations comply with company policies, industry best practices, and local regulatory standards through audits and checks.
- Supporting operational processes including procurement activities and repair follow-ups within internal financial systems.
- Monitoring and improving building system performance with a focus on energy efficiency and operational optimisation.
- Participating in out-of-hours escalation and incident management processes.
Skills/Must have:
- 3–5 years of experience working within mission-critical mechanical and electrical environments, ideally within the IT or telecommunications industry.
- Experience working within data centres or similar critical infrastructure environments.
- Strong knowledge of key data centre infrastructure systems including UPS systems, generators, and cooling technologies.
- Recognised formal electrical training (e.g., City & Guilds or equivalent).
- Experience with the operation and maintenance of critical building infrastructure including electrical and mechanical systems.
- AP15 certification and experience acting as a High Voltage Authorised Person (HV AP).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical diagrams.
