We are seeking an Assessment Engineer to play a key role in ensuring smooth fibre network delivery and customer connections. This hybrid field-based role combines surveying, service assurance, and technical problem-solving to keep projects on track and services delivered right first time.

Responsibilities:

Survey sites and assess infrastructure for fibre rollout.

  • Support installations and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Carry out site visits with contractors to check feasibility and compliance.
  • Scope and validate construction costs (ECCs).
  • Check and troubleshoot underground and overhead routes.
  • Ensure permits, permissions, and wayleaves are in place.
  • Confirm readiness of build plans with internal teams.
  • Support pre-build checks, quality assurance, and service delivery.
  • Keep accurate records and promote safe working practices.
  • Suggest improvements to processes and field operations.

Skills / Must have:

  • Knowledge of fibre networks, civils, poles, and ducts.
  • Field surveying or telecoms installation experience.
  • Ability to resolve technical and site issues.
  • Familiarity with ECCs and cost checks.
  • Experience using GIS or job management systems.
  • Strong focus on health & safety.
  • Clear communicator with good stakeholder skills.
  • Full UK driving licence, willing to travel.
