This is a field-based engineering role supporting critical transport infrastructure across London and surrounding areas. Work on complex electromechanical systems within a regulated rail environment, operating largely independently with strong planning and structure around your work.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out fault finding, repair, and preventative maintenance on transport and gate systems.
  • Attend planned and reactive jobs across the London network using a tablet-based job system.
  • Work independently while following strict safety and compliance procedures.
  • Accurately complete job reports and manage allocated stock and equipment.
  • Participate in team briefings and occasional depot visits when required.


Skills / Must Have:

  • A recognised qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronic engineering, required to work on rail infrastructure.
  • At least 3 years engineering experience, ensuring you can work independently without extensive supervision.
  • Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points, allowing you to operate a company vehicle safely.
  • Previous night shift experience if applying for night roles, so the shift pattern is a known and sustainable choice.
  • Willingness to work in a regulated rail environment, including drug and alcohol testing requirements.


Nice to Have:

  • Strong mechanical experience with motors, gears, belts, and pulleys, which closely matches the systems worked on.
  • Background in transport, white goods, vending, parking systems, or fare collection equipment.
  • Ex-military engineering experience, particularly for candidates comfortable with responsibility, structure, and shift work.

Salary:

  • £35,420 basic salary
  • Overtime available with realistic total earnings up to circa £43,000
