Responsibilities:

  • Investigate complex end-to-end FTTP subscriber faults, including session drops, stale sessions, and re-authentication behaviour.
  • Analyse DHCP session establishment, Radius authentication flows, and lease failures.
  • Validate subscriber states using third-party BNG session tools and ensure VLAN tagging and access alignment.
  • Diagnose IP addressing, allocation issues, and MTU/fragmentation-related faults.
  • Perform WAN/LAN packet capture analysis and deep-dive into CPE routing, NAT, and firewall behaviour.
  • Validate ACS / TR-069 provisioning integrity and identify firmware-related behavioural faults.
  • Diagnose Wi-Fi performance issues, including RSSI, airtime utilization, and interference.
  • Identify gaps in processes, tooling, and documentation to implement improvements that increase operational efficiency.


Skills/Must have:

  • Strong broadband fault diagnostic experience, with a heavy preference for FTTP.
  • Practical understanding of DHCP and Radius flows within an IPoE (DHCP-based) environment.
  • Solid IP networking fundamentals and the ability to interpret session data, logs, and diagnostic outputs.
  • Strong Wi-Fi troubleshooting knowledge and the ability to distinguish internal LAN issues from upstream faults.
  • Ability to produce clear, structured technical escalations and present complex information to diverse audiences.
