Network Architect - ISP

One of our clients, a leading provider of advanced network and security solutions, is supporting a major ISP in the Netherlands as they continue to evolve and optimise their core network infrastructure.

They are looking to engage an experienced Network Architect to take ownership of core IP network design and testing within a predominantly Nokia environment.

This is an opportunity to work on one of the country’s most advanced and large-scale networks, shaping architecture that underpins critical national connectivity.

As a Network Architect, you will be responsible for the design, validation and evolution of core IP network solutions, ensuring performance, scalability and resilience across the ISP’s infrastructure.

You will work closely with engineering teams to test and validate designs in lab environments, support network migrations, and contribute to long-term architectural strategy.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect core IP network solutions within a service provider environment
• Develop and maintain high-level and low-level design documentation
• Validate network designs through lab testing and proof of concept environments
• Support integration, migration and optimisation of network infrastructure
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams to ensure successful delivery of solutions
• Contribute to technical standards, best practices and architectural roadmaps
• Drive improvements in performance, scalability and network resilience
• Support troubleshooting and provide expertise on complex network challenges

Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Nokia IP routing and network design
• Experience with Cisco and/or Juniper technologies
• Proven background in IP/MPLS core network architecture within a service provider environment
• Experience with network testing, validation and lab environments
• Strong understanding of large-scale network design, performance and resilience
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Fluent in English (Dutch is advantageous)

Salary & Benefits

• Day Rate: Negotiable
• 12-month contract with strong likelihood of extension
• Hybrid working with only one day per week, onsite in Amsterdam (Thursday)
