They are now seeking a Network Operations Engineer to be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of optical and IP networks. This role requires strong technical expertise, independence, and meticulous attention to detail. You will handle a variety of complex network issues with minimal supervision, applying sound judgment and innovative solutions to ensure optimal network performance and reliability.

Responsibilities
- Monitor, maintain, and optimise optical and IP networks to ensure performance, stability, capacity, and reliability.
- Proactively monitor network health using advanced management tools and respond quickly to issues to minimise downtime and service impact.
- Independently troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues across multi-vendor environments, including both hardware and software faults.
- Manage day-to-day network operations with minimal supervision, requiring only general direction for new or unfamiliar tasks.
- Investigate network traffic anomalies and respond to escalations and enquiries from cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Collaborate with vendors, service providers, and internal stakeholders to drive timely resolution of network-related incidents.
- Perform detailed root cause analysis for outages and service disruptions, producing clear incident reports with corrective and preventative actions.
- Support the design, optimisation, and implementation of new network infrastructure initiatives and improvements.
- Work closely with colocation facilities and global teams to ensure seamless and reliable network operations.
- Carry out additional duties as required to support overall network reliability and operational excellence
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) in a relevant field and 5–8 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven experience with optical networking (DWDM, CWDM) and IP networking protocols (IPv4/IPv6, MPLS, BGP, OSPF).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment in selecting appropriate methodologies.
- Deep understanding of fiber-optic technologies, including cable and connector types, optical components, and transport systems.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing RCA reports for network and server outages.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with global service providers, colocation facilities, and ISPs.
- Experience working in multi-vendor network environments.
- Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIP, OCA, or equivalent.
