Responsibilities:
- Network Operations and Optimization
- Configure, manage, and fine-tune hardware systems to sustain optimal performance across optical and IP layers.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting across multiple hardware and software platforms in a multi-vendor environment.
- Oversee capacity management and ensure infrastructure scalability to meet operational demands.
- Incident Response and Problem Management
- Investigate and resolve network performance issues, routing anomalies, and service interruptions.
- Interface with internal cross-functional teams (XFNs), vendors, and partners to quickly restore affected services.
- Conduct comprehensive root cause analyses (RCAs) and produce detailed technical reports and remediation plans.
- Collaboration and Technical Support
- Partner with global service providers, colocation data centers, and engineering teams to ensure end-to-end network stability.
- Contribute to infrastructure deployment projects, technology refresh initiatives, and network expansion activities.
- Provide technical input and operational guidance for new solutions and system integrations.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline), or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 5–8 years of professional experience in IP and optical network operations or engineering.
- Strong working knowledge of optical transport technologies (DWDM, CWDM) and IP routing protocols (BGP, OSPF,
- MPLS, IPv4/IPv6).
- Solid understanding of fiber-optic systems, including cabling standards, optics, and patch panel configurations.
- Proven ability to conduct and document detailed RCAs for network or system outages.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills for working with ISPs, data center providers, and global operations teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing large-scale, multi-vendor network environments.
- Industry-recognized certifications such as CCNP, CCNA, JNCIP, JNCIA, OCA, or equivalent.
