Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Delivery:
    • Manage end-to-end dark fiber deployment projects, including route planning, permitting, construction, and final acceptance.
    • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
    • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
    • Track progress and manage risks, issues, and dependencies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Act as the primary point of contact for internal teams, vendors, and customers.
    • Coordinate with engineering, design, permitting, construction, and operations teams.
    • Provide regular project updates, reporting, and status reviews to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Vendor & Contractor Management:
    • Manage relationships with construction contractors, engineering firms, and fiber installation vendors.
    • Oversee contractor performance to ensure compliance with project scope, safety standards, and timelines.
    • Review vendor deliverables including as-built documentation and quality inspections.
  • Permitting & Regulatory Coordination:
    • Coordinate with local municipalities, utilities, and regulatory authorities to secure permits and right-of-way access.
    • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local regulations for fiber deployment.
  • Budget & Financial Oversight:
    • Monitor project budgets and approve invoices.
    • Manage change orders and cost variances.
    • Identify cost efficiencies without compromising quality or timelines.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure fiber deployments meet industry standards and technical specifications.
    • Oversee testing, commissioning, and acceptance of fiber infrastructure.
    • Maintain complete project documentation and close-out packages.


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of project management experience in fiber, telecom, or network infrastructure deployment.
  • Proven experience managing dark fiber or fiber-optic network build projects.
  • Strong understanding of fiber construction processes, including aerial and underground deployment.
  • Experience managing permitting, right-of-way, and municipal coordination.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously across different regions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent.
  • Experience working with hyperscale, carrier, or enterprise fiber networks.
  • Familiarity with GIS tools, fiber design software, and project management platforms (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira).
  • Experience with long-haul or metro fiber builds.
