Resident Engineer - Vendor

They are now seeking an experienced Resident Engineer to support a major customer in Auckland, New Zealand. This is a permanent, fully onsite role focused on operational support and project delivery within a complex optical networking environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support within a customer network operations environment
• Support both BAU activities and project-based work
• Perform maintenance and network augmentation planning
• Prepare and execute EMOPs (Engineering Method of Procedure)
• Assist with small-scale network augmentations and changes
• Work closely with customer stakeholders and internal engineering teams

Required Experience

• 6–10 years’ experience in optical or transport networking
• Strong hands-on experience with Ciena DWDM platforms
• Solid understanding of optical networking technologies
• Experience working in live production networks or NOC environments
• Strong documentation and operational discipline
