Are you ready to step into a role where you can help shape the future of global satellite communications and make a real impact in connecting the world?

Join a world-leading satellite and space solutions provider with a rich legacy of innovation spanning decades and a newly strengthened global position following its strategic acquisition of another major industry player, operating one of the most advanced multi-orbit networks with over 100 satellites that connect over 99 percent of the world’s population; trusted by multiple government organisations, mobile network operators, and commercial airlines, celebrated for delivering high-quality video, broadband, mobility and defence communications, and recognised for pioneering industry firsts from direct-to-home broadcasting to cutting-edge low-latency Medium Earth Orbit services.

Take your career to new heights and apply now to be part of a team driving innovation, enabling secure global connectivity, and delivering transformative solutions across land, sea, and air!

Responsibilities:

  • Architecture & Delivery: Define the software architecture for high-throughput payloads, selecting languages, RTOS, and observability frameworks.
  • Hardware/Software Co-design: Partition algorithms across CPUs, FPGAs, and ASICs while managing power, thermal, and memory budgets.
  • System Resilience: Lead the implementation of real-time scheduling and Fault Detection, Isolation, and Recovery (FDIR) protocols.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish flight-software best practices, including CI/CD, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, and secure Over-the-Air (OTA) updates.
  • Team Leadership: Hire, mentor, and manage senior engineering talent through the full development lifecycle.
  • Operational Integration: Ensure software interfaces seamlessly with satellite bus systems and meets radiation hardening constraints.

Skills / Must Have:

  • Experience: 10+ years in embedded/real-time software for telecommunications, avionics, or safety-critical domains.
  • Technical Stack: Deep proficiency in Rust, C, or C++, with expertise in Linux systems programming.
  • Hardware Logic: Experience in low-level programming and hardware description languages (VHDL, Verilog, or Assembly).
  • Systems Knowledge: Strong understanding of RF, Digital Signal Processing (DSP), and Software Defined Radio (SDR).
  • Verification: Hands-on experience with HIL testing, cross-compilation toolchains, and JTAG/GDB debugging.
  • Security: Eligibility for national/international "SECRET" level security clearance.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) regression testing in a space-manufacturing context.
  • Familiarity with proprietary software-defined payload integration.
  • Experience navigating the transition from rapid prototyping to hardened, flight-ready code.

Benefits:

  • Innovation-Driven Environment: Work within a cutting-edge manufacturing and test facility.
  • Professional Growth: Lead a pivotal department in a globally scaling satellite communications leader.
  • Global Mobility: Opportunities for national and international travel for project execution.
  • Hybrid Flexibility: Alignment with the company’s agile manufacturing and integration model.

Salary:

  • €100,000-150,000
