A fast-growing global financial trading organisation is expanding its IT Infrastructure function and is hiring an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to strengthen its cloud, automation, and end-user infrastructure capabilities. This is a senior, hands-on role working closely with IT Operations to improve and scale the backend environment.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning end-user systems, solving complex technical problems, and driving automation across a global environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex 3rd-line issues across the end-user environment.
  • Lead backend automation and root-cause analysis to improve reliability and reduce operational workload.
  • Deliver and support global infrastructure projects, including migrations and cloud adoption.
  • Work closely with IT Operations, offering guidance, troubleshooting, and system improvements.
  • Contribute ideas and hands-on solutions to uplift infrastructure, automation, and tooling.
  • Help shape the move towards increased cloud usage across multiple international offices.

Key Skills & Experience

  • 7+ years’ experience in Systems Engineering / IT Operations.
  • Strong background in Windows / Microsoft environments.
  • Deep experience with AWS (or another major cloud provider with a willingness to pivot to AWS.
  • Demonstrable experience with automation (PowerShell, scripting, IaC, etc.).
  • Exposure to end-user technologies such as SSO (e.g., Okta) and MDM tools (Intune or JAMF – JAMF experience not essential).
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills to handle complex end-user issues with clarity.
