Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure Management & Optimization
- Manage and maintain server environments (Windows/Linux) and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Oversee hybrid and multi-cloud environments, ensuring seamless integration between on-premises hardware and cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Optimize system performance through regular auditing, patching, and resource allocation.
- Network & Security Administration:
- Administer core networking components, including switches, routers, and firewalls, to ensure secure and reliable connectivity.
- Implement and monitor comprehensive security protocols, including endpoint protection, identity management (IAM), and encryption.
- Lead incident response efforts and conduct root-cause analysis for any major system or network outages.
- Client Consultation & Technical Leadership:
- Act as a senior technical advisor for clients, helping them plan infrastructure upgrades and digital transformation projects.
- Serve as the final escalation point for Tier 3 technical support issues.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior system administrators and help desk staff.
- Backup, Recovery & Compliance:
- Design and manage robust backup and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies to guarantee data integrity and business continuity.
- Ensure client systems meet industry-specific compliance standards (such as SOC2, HIPAA, or PIPEDA in the Canadian context).
Skills/Must have:
- 10+ Years in systems Administration.
- Extensive experience across Azure (including integrating with legacy systems), AWS, M365
- Exceptional communication skills (client facing) are a must.
