Responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine detection and mitigation logic to defend against DDoS attacks at network and application layers
  • Continuously optimise attack detection and mitigation pipelines, including automated processing and reporting of attack patterns
  • Automate operational processes and support infrastructure rollouts together with system administrators
  • Design and maintain robust APIs and services to integrate defense capabilities into hosting platforms
  • Operate and troubleshoot highly available, large-scale infrastructure
  • Participate in on-call rotations to ensure platform reliability and rapid incident response
  • Contribute to improving platform architecture, resilience and automation


Skills/Must have:

  • Degree in Computer Science or a comparable technical qualification
  • Strong interest in IT security, particularly DDoS mitigation
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals
  • Experience with some of the following
  • Development of highly available backend systems
  • Programming in Go, C, Python, PHP or Bash
  • Nginx, ideally with Lua for extending application logic
  • Operating Nginx as a reverse proxy or Web Application Firewall (WAF)
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation practices
  • Strong understanding of Linux networking
  • Experience with BGP, Flowspec or Anycast in the context of traffic mitigation
  • Analytical skills for evaluating attacks and implementing countermeasures
  • Fluent English (spoken and written). German is a plus.
