Key Responsibilities:

  • Kubernetes Platform 
  • Design & Engineering:
    • Design, deploy, and manage Kubernetes clusters on VMware platforms (e.g. TKG/VKS), ensuring scalability, resilience, and performance across multi-environment setups (dev, test, prod).
  • Application Enablement & Support:
    • Work closely with development teams to onboard applications to Kubernetes, define containerisation best practices, and troubleshoot platform and workload issues.
  • Automation & DevOps Integration:
    • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (e.g.Terraform, Ansible), and develop Helm charts for application and platform deployments.
  • Platform Operations, Reliability & SRE:
    • Ensure platform reliability through monitoring, SLIs/SLOs, incident management, and continuous improvement, supporting 24/7 operational readiness.
  • Security & Governance Implementation:
    • Implement Kubernetes security controls including RBAC, network policies, secrets management, PKI, and supply chain security, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards.


Requirements:

  • Kubernetes & Container Expertise:
    • Strong hands-on experience running Kubernetes in production, particularly on VMware platforms (TKG/VKS), with solid knowledge of networking, storage, and ingress.
  • Cloud, VMware & Infrastructure Knowledge:
    • Experience with virtualised environments, hybrid/private cloud architectures, and underlying infrastructure including networking and load balancing.
  • Automation, IaC & CI/CD Tooling:
    • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible), CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps), and Kubernetes packaging tools like Helm.
  • Scripting & Programming:
    • Strong Scripting skills (e.g. Python, Go) to support automation, tooling, and platform enhancements.
  • Observability & Security Practices:
    • Experience with monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) and a solid understanding of Kubernetes security, identity management, and enterprise best practices.
