As a Level 2 Network Engineer specializing in Cisco Routing & Switching (R&S) and Cisco Wireless technologies, you will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, security, and optimal performance of our clients' network infrastructures. You will work as part of a dynamic team to provide proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolution of network-related incidents and service requests. 

This position requires strong technical expertise in Cisco R&S and Wireless technologies, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Network Monitoring and Maintenance:
      • Proactively monitor network infrastructure using tools such as Cisco Prime Infrastructure, SolarWinds, or similar platforms.
      • Perform regular health checks, firmware upgrades, and patch management for Cisco R&S and Wireless devices.
      • Ensure network availability, reliability, and performance meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and industry best practices.
  • Incident Management and Troubleshooting:
      • Respond to network-related incidents escalated from Level 1 support teams and troubleshoot issues to resolution.
      • Utilize technical knowledge and diagnostic tools to identify and resolve network connectivity, performance, and security issues.
      • Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and root cause analysis for future reference and knowledge sharing.
  • Change Management:
      • Assist in the planning, implementation, and documentation of network changes, including configurations, upgrades, and migrations.
      • Follow established change management processes and procedures to minimize disruption to client environments.
  • Customer Support and Communication:
      • Provide timely and professional communication to clients regarding incident status updates, resolution timelines, and post-incident reports.
      • Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely resolution of escalated issues and customer satisfaction.
  • Technical Expertise and Knowledge Sharing:
      • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to Cisco R&S and Wireless technologies.
      • Share knowledge and expertise with team members through training sessions, documentation, and mentorship.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Cisco certifications such as CCNA, CCNP (R&S or Wireless), or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in network engineering roles with a focus on Cisco R&S and Wireless technologies.
  • Proficiency in configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining Cisco routers, switches, wireless controllers, and access points.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), VLANs, and subnetting.
  • Experience with network security principles and technologies (e.g., firewalls, VPNs, ACLs).
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools such as Cisco Prime Infrastructure, SolarWinds, or equivalent.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and internal teams.
