Network Security Design Engineer - Telecommunications Service Provider

We are currently seeking enthusiastic and skilled individuals to join their team as Network Security Engineers. This exciting opportunity is based in Birmingham and offers a chance to work on their Core Network Backbone, with a primary focus on network security.

We are open to considering candidates with backgrounds in network security vendors such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Cisco Firepower.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work on the Core Network Backbone, emphasizing network security.
• Network design with a strong emphasis on security measures.
• Implement and maintain security solutions from various vendors, including Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Cisco Firepower.
• Collaborate with a team of professionals to ensure the Telecoms Security Act compliance.
• Utilize your skills in Python, Jinja 2, TTP, and YAML to enhance our network security systems.
• Engage in Network Design, applying your expertise in Cisco and Nokia Core Network technologies.
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt, particularly for individuals transitioning from Software Engineering to IP Networks/Network Security or vice versa.

Requirements:

• Background in network security vendors such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Cisco Firepower.
• Proficiency in programming languages, including Python, Jinja 2, TTP, and YAML.
• Knowledge of Telecoms Security Act and its application within the role.
• Experience in Network Design, with a focus on security measures.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.

Working Conditions:

• Standard working hours.
• 3 days per week in Birmingham.

Salary:

• £28,000 - £72,000, commensurate with experience and skills.
