They are looking for a 2nd Line Network Engineer to join a supportive team that provides real exposure to networking without being overwhelmed by high ticket volumes. This role combines day-to-day support with small project work, allowing hands-on experience with firewalls, wireless networks, and WAN connectivity, while also offering fully funded certifications to support technical growth. The position is ideal for candidates who are CCNA certified or working towards it, with opportunities to progress further, including Palo Alto certifications.

Responsibilities:
- Provide 2nd Line network support across multi-site environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across routing, switching, firewalls, and wireless networks.
- Manage tickets through to resolution with a structured approach.
- Liaise with ISPs to diagnose and resolve connectivity issues.
- Support firewall platforms including Cisco Firepower and Palo Alto.
- Work with Cisco Meraki environments across LAN and wireless.
- Assist with small project work and network changes.
- Support VoIP systems (NEC – training provided).
- Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing.
Required Skills:
- Experience in a 1st or 2nd Line Network Support role. Strong interest in networking with solid fundamentals.
- Working towards or holding a CCNA certification (or willing to achieve within three months).
- Experience troubleshooting network connectivity issues.
- Good communication skills and a proactive attitude.
Preferred Experience:
- Exposure to Palo Alto firewalls.
- Experience working in multi-site environments.
- Interest in progressing into more project-focused work.
Technical Environment:
- Cisco Meraki (LAN and Wireless), Cisco Firepower, Palo Alto firewalls, WAN/ISP connectivity, NEC VoIP (training provided).
Working Pattern:
- Huddersfield, five days per week onsite.
- Opportunity to join an on-call rota (optional).
Security Requirements:
- Must be able to pass NPPV3 clearance within the first six months.
