Our client is a leading global IT security consultancy with a strong presence in Europe, Asia, and the United States. They provide innovative solutions to major companies such as Lloyds Bank, EasyJet, and HSBC.
They are now seeking a Data Centre Engineer, for a 6-month rolling contract where you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, safety, and operations of machinery within our client's facilities.
This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with a strong technical background in data centre operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on data centre equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Manage inventory of equipment, spare parts, and supplies to support maintenance activities.
- Develop and manage budgets for equipment maintenance and facility operations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, safety inspections, and inventory records.
- Coordinate the decommissioning of hardware when necessary, ensuring proper disposal and data security protocols are followed.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in data centre operations, including equipment maintenance and safety compliance.
- Hands on experience in racking, stacking and decommission of hardware
- Strong technical skills with experience working with data centre hardware and infrastructure.
- Experience with structured cabling
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to travel to sites across the UK as needed.
