Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with a multi-disciplinary team to deploy, configure, and manage multiple workspaces platforms.
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and create a DevOps culture.
  • Implement automation best practices, upholding client values within Government Digital Standards.
  • Design and implement Infrastructure services in collaboration with Architecture and Engineering principles.
  • Transform technical requirements into an effective DevOps toolchain enabling product delivery and implementing deployment strategies.

Key Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

  • Experience with immutable infrastructure, version control, infrastructure as code, and containerisation tools (git, terraform, ansible, docker).
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud hosting (EC2, auto scaling groups, security groups, IAM roles, CloudWatch, CloudTrail).
  • Good understanding of IPv4 and IPv6 networking, DNS, and routing changes in a zero-trust architecture.
  • Experience with enterprise system monitoring tools (Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk).
  • Extensive experience with Windows Server and PowerShell.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools.
  • Security Clearance: SC eligibility/clearance is mandatory.

Proven Experience in:

  • Large-scale organisations and/or Government/Public Sector within AWS utilizing Ansible Automation Platform.
  • Practical DevOps roles with examples of assignments and key outcomes.
  • Expert-level AWS infrastructure build and operate experience.
  • Managing infrastructure as code with Ansible Automation Platform within a government organisation.

Good to Have:

  • Experience with Azure cloud hosting, GitLab, ELK, Kibana, Dynatrace, Jenkins, Gitlab CI, Puppet, Terraform, Packer, Python, Tenable, Vault.
  • Familiarity with the Government Service Standard.
  • Knowledge of Code and Security Analysis tools like Blackduck, Check Marx, SonarQube.

Additional Details:

  • Hybrid Working: 3 days mandatory.

Salary Range: 

  • £60,000 - £80,000.
