We're seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Director of Broadband Grants & Initiatives to join our team. In this role, you'll be instrumental in developing and executing our grant strategy, securing funding from federal and state programs to support fiber optic infrastructure projects and related initiatives. Working closely with the VP of Data Analytics and Government Affairs team, you'll assess new project areas, engage communities and municipalities, draft and submit proposals, and keep the executive team informed.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement our overall grant strategy in collaboration with the Public Affairs VP.
  • Identify and assess available federal and state grant programs supporting fiber optic infrastructure projects and related initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to identify project areas for grant proposals and determine proposal components.
  • Coordinate with multi-departmental staff on the creation and/or collection of elements required for proposal submission.
  • Engage communities and municipalities in partnership opportunities related to fiber broadband deployment and network management.
  • Draft and submit grant proposals for federal and state initiatives, focusing on programs like the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) program.
  • Monitor and report on the status of grant applications, providing updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Provide financial input on the pursuit and prioritization of grants, advising the company President and executive team on grant-related issues.
  • Identify, track, and respond to compliance requirements.
  • Attend relevant industry events and conferences to stay informed about current grant programs and initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience.
  • 5 to 10 years' experience in grant proposal coordination and submissions.
  • Significant experience in grant response management, including coordinating and tracking proposal requirements such as costing, design, construction, and other program requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
