Network Engineer - Service Provider

We are partnered with a government service provider based in Bolton, dedicated to delivering essential services to private clients, local central governments, and multi-government entities. Their team operates in a fast-paced environment, serving diverse client estates with a focus on providing reliable network solutions.

We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer with 7-10 years of experience to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Cisco routing and switching, SDWAN technologies (Nokia Nuage or similar), Fortigate/Checkpoint, SASE implementation, wireless solutions (Aruba/Meraki), and proficiency in Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with a small team of 10 engineers to deliver BAU tasks and projects effectively.
• Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to jump in whenever necessary, with the potential to lead projects.
• Exhibit strong soft skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
• Maintain vendor-agnostic approach to solutions and technologies.

Requirements:

• 7-10 years of relevant experience in network engineering.
• CCNP level certification or equivalent expertise.
• Enhanced DBS clearance or the ability to obtain one.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco routing and switching.
• Proficiency in SDWAN technologies (Nokia Nuage or similar).
• Familiarity with Fortigate/Checkpoint, SASE implementation, and wireless solutions (Aruba/Meraki).
• Strong understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols, including BGP and OSPF.
• Experience with on-premises and cloud-based network environments.
• Nice to have: Azure networking experience, familiarity with voice and data solutions.

Location and Travel:

• The role is based in Bolton, UK, with occasional customer site visits as required.
