Network Engineer - Telecommunications Provider

We are partnered with a telecommunications company headquartered in Ridgeland, Mississippi, USA. They are providers of Wireless network services, fibre optic internet access for homeowners and various technology solutions for businesses, including internet access, cloud services, and network security.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge and expertise in network technology meshing, with a strong background in combining various network technologies to form comprehensive deployments. 

As a Network Engineer you will play a crucial role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing their IP MPLS environment, as well as providing leadership and mentorship to junior team members.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize advanced knowledge of network technology meshing to deploy and maintain complex network infrastructures.
• Demonstrate expertise in common network technologies at OSI Layer 3 and Layer 2.
• Implement and troubleshoot IP MPLS networks and BGP routing, with experience in Timos preferred.
• Deploy and maintain MPLS MVPN components and configurations.
• Conduct thorough troubleshooting, diagnosis, and mitigation of issues in an IP MPLS environment, including performing break/fix activities when necessary.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to junior team members, influencing their growth and knowledge within the field.
• Possess strong oral and written communication skills, effectively communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Operate effectively within a complex, dynamic environment, adapting to changing requirements and priorities.

Requirements:

• Degree or Certificate in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent preferred.
• Advanced knowledge and experience in network technology meshing.
• Proficiency in common network technologies at OSI Layer 3 and Layer 2.
• Experience with IP MPLS networks and BGP routing, preferably with experience in Timos.
• CCNP certification preferred; NRS II certification is a plus.
• Experience with Nokia NSP/NFM-P is preferred.
• Familiarity with Ethernet testing platforms such as EXFO and Viavi, along with Y.1564 (EtherSam) testing protocol using defined classes of service, is preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to operate effectively within a complex, dynamic environment.
