Network Engineer (Data Center) - Biomedical Research

We are partnered with a powerhouse in biomedical research. Founded in 2015, this London-based institute tackles major health challenges like cancer and infectious diseases.  Employing over 1,500 researchers, they collaborate with pharmaceutical giants like GSK and AstraZeneca to bring groundbreaking discoveries from the lab to potential cures.

We seek a skilled Network Engineer specialising in Datacenter Networks to take ownership of their infrastructure. As a pivotal member of their team, you will be responsible for managing and enhancing the data centre network to support operations.

This is a hybrid role with an expected 2 days per week in the office (Tues & Thurs), in Kings Cross.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain our datacenter network, with a focus on Cisco Nexus switches.
• Oversee the implementation and support of Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco Campus Network, ISE to Clearpass migration, Cisco Wireless to Aruba Wireless transition, and Infoblox for DDI solutions.
• Lead the replacement of the entire edge network as part of a multi-million-pound project.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance network automation using Python and other tools.
• Support the mega-site at Kings Cross and two new laboratory sites under construction in the same location.

Requirements:

• Strong character with the ability to take ownership of the datacenter network and drive initiatives forward.
• Extensive experience in managing datacenter networks, particularly with Cisco Nexus switches.
• Proficiency in Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco Wireless, and Infoblox for DDI solutions.
• Familiarity with network automation tools and scripting languages, especially Python.
• Comfortable working in a hybrid environment, with 2 days per week in the office at Kings Cross.
