We're currently seeking a skilled NOC Engineer to join our client's established engineering team. In this role, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining networking infrastructure, using various routing and switching technologies like Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, Ruckus/Comscope, and others within our Service Provider network.

You'll closely collaborate with DevOps tools and best practices, employing various open-source technologies to streamline deployment and maintenance of our network and computing infrastructure. Your primary focus will be on testing interoperability and validating proof-of-concept solutions for delivering a fast, stable, and secure Internet experience to customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement network solutions and connectivity using Cisco, Juniper routing and switching technologies within the core and various additional vendors at the customer edge.
  • Manage and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, WiFi radios, controllers, and other connected systems.
  • Plan IPv4 and IPv6 allocation for optimal network utilization and redundancy scenarios.
  • Troubleshoot network issues and implement solutions to resolve them.
  • Monitor network performance and identify potential issues.
  • Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Work within Linux environments and utilize Network DevOps culture and principles in network engineering and operations.
  • Maintain VMWare virtualization environment running a mix of Windows and Linux VMs for both public-facing and back-office applications.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure network uptime and optimal performance.
  • Assist in scheduled and emergency network maintenance to upgrade or restore connectivity while minimizing impact on customers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field – or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with Cisco and Juniper routing and switching technologies in an enterprise or service provider environment.
  • Proficiency with Linux systems and open-source technologies for network management and maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and MPLS.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • CCNA or JNCIA certification (or above) is a plus.

Salary: 

  • $70,000
