Principal IP MPLS Network Engineer

We are seeking two highly skilled and motivated Principal IP MPLS Network Engineers to join our clinets dynamic team. The ideal candidates will possess a robust background in core networking, with specific expertise in BNG, Radius, and retail ISP networks. 

This is a hands-on role, requiring proficiency in network design, testing, configuration, and support. A passion for network automation, particularly using Python and tools like Ansible, Netmiko, and Nornir, is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Network Design and Architecture:
  • Design and architect scalable and robust core network solutions.
  • Work with Juniper MX, ACX, and QFX Leafspine technologies to enhance network performance and reliability.
• Hands-On Engineering:
  • Engage directly in network engineering tasks, including testing, configuration, and support.
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Perform subscriber management and work with BNG and GPON technologies.
• Network Automation:
  • Develop and implement network automation scripts and processes using Python.
  • Utilize tools such as Ansible, Netmiko, and Nornir to streamline network operations and management.
• Support and Maintenance:
  • Provide high-level support for the network infrastructure.
  • Ensure continuous network monitoring and proactive maintenance to prevent downtime.
• Collaboration and Meetings:
  • Attend bi-monthly meetings in Cheltenham to collaborate with the team and discuss strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Core Networking Expertise:
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with core networking components, including BNG, Radius, and retail ISP networks.
  • Familiarity with Juniper MX, ACX, and QFX Leafspine.
• Network Access Layer Experience:
  • Experience with GPON technologies and an understanding of network access layer configurations.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Python for network automation.
  • Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Netmiko, and Nornir.
• Professional Experience:
  • Proven track record in network design, testing, configuration, and support roles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
