Ready to work at the forefront of quantitative finance and technology.

Join a globally recognised high-frequency trading firm operating at the forefront of quantitative finance, where ultra-low latency infrastructure, automation, and engineering excellence are critical to success. This organisation operates across every asset class and time horizon, building advanced models, systems, and infrastructure that power real-time decision-making at scale. With a culture rooted in curiosity, precision, and continuous innovation, their team works from first principles to design and optimize strategies, leveraging AI, machine learning, and high-performance technology to stay ahead.

They are looking for a Senior Network Automation Engineer to join a high-performance engineering team within a leading high-frequency trading environment. This is a hands-on, end-to-end role focused on taking ownership across networking, automation, infrastructure, and operational reliability, working in a lean London team. The position is ideal for engineers who want to design, build, and operate networks in a fully integrated environment, combining automation with production operations, rather than simply responding to tickets.

Step into a role where your work directly influences global trading outcomes, apply today!

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and operate low-latency network infrastructure supporting trading systems.
  • Develop and maintain network automation tooling using Python and related frameworks.
  • Work across networking, Linux infrastructure, and trading application connectivity.
  • Own network performance, reliability, and optimisation across production systems.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across data centre and global network environments.
  • Contribute to patching, upgrades, and continuous improvement of infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with trading, development, and infrastructure teams.
  • Support global network operations as part of a structured rota.

Required Skills:

  • Strong experience across networking, infrastructure, and automation.
  • Ability to operate as an end-to-end engineer, not just a specialist in one area.
  • Solid understanding of data centre networks and production environments.
  • Experience with network automation and scripting (Python preferred).
  • Strong Linux knowledge.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and own complex systems.
  • Background in financial services or similarly high-performance environments preferred.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • CCIE or equivalent level knowledge. Exposure to global infrastructure and multi-site networks.

Working Pattern:

  • London, five days per week onsite. EU network operations rota: one week in six (no weekend work, covered by a separate team).
  • Occasional travel to other global offices.

Technical Environment:

  • Large-scale, low-latency data centre networks, network automation (Python), Linux systems, trading infrastructure and application connectivity, enterprise routing and switching.

Benefits:

  • Work in a high-performance, engineering-led environment. End-to-end ownership across networking, automation, and infrastructure.
  • Lean team with high impact and visibility.
  • Exposure to global trading infrastructure and cutting-edge systems.

Salary:

  • Base plus bonus, up to £500,000 total compensation depending on experience.
