We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join this global IT consulting company in Broussard, LA. 

This position will play a crucial role in providing primary Field Communications Support for NAM - GOM (North America - Gulf of Mexico) operations, with additional responsibilities encompassing Global Communications Support.

 The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network systems administration, particularly within the oilfield operational context. This role requires US citizenship due to the nature of the responsibilities involved.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide primary Field Communications Support for NAM - GOM operations, ensuring the stability, reliability, and security of network systems.
  • Offer Global Communications Support as needed, ensuring seamless connectivity across various locations and regions.
  • Configure, install, and maintain LAN, MAN, and WAN devices to facilitate efficient communication within and between operational sites.
  • Implement and manage Cisco Routing and Switching infrastructure, possessing CCIE level knowledge to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Manage WIFI networks to support operational requirements and ensure coverage across designated areas.
  • Proficiently handle VSAT, BGAN, and Cellular Technologies to provide reliable communication solutions, especially in remote or challenging environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot network issues and implement effective solutions promptly.
  • Maintain documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures, to ensure comprehensive records of network infrastructure.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Relevant certifications such as Security+ (or equivalent), GSEC, SSCP, Cisco (CCNA, CCNP), and Palo Alto (PCNSA/PCNSE).
  • 3-5 years of experience in oilfield operations, with a strong understanding of industry-specific networking requirements and challenges.
  • In-depth knowledge of LAN, MAN, and WAN technologies, protocols, and best practices.
  • Expertise in Cisco Routing and Switching, with the ability to configure and troubleshoot complex network infrastructures at a CCIE level.
  • Proficiency in managing WIFI networks, including design, implementation, and optimization.
  • Experience with satellite communication technologies such as VSAT and BGAN, as well as cellular technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Salary:

  • $100,000 - $140,000
