Site Reliability Engineer - Technology

We are partnered with a leading technology company that are now seeking a dynamic and experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join their team. 

Located in Wokingham, this role offers a hybrid work model with 3 days in the office. SC Eligibility/Clearance is mandatory for this position.

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will bring a wealth of skills, knowledge, and experience to the team. 

Key requirements include:

• Software Development Experience: Demonstrated understanding of Agile Software Development and/or DevOps experience.
• Security Clearance: Willingness to undertake SC clearance.
• Production Support: Proven experience in production support and ITSM knowledge.
• Cloud Native Concepts: Understanding of Cloud Native Concepts, including Containerization & Microservices Architecture.
• Kubernetes Platforms: Experience with OpenShift or other Kubernetes-based platforms, preferably in a DevOps or Administrative capacity.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering or in a STEM-related field.
• Industry Experience: Extensive experience working in the technology industry, ideally in business-critical system support roles.
• Methodologies: Good knowledge of software development/support methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Agile Software Delivery: Knowledge of Agile software delivery models (Kanban, Scrum, etc.).
• Team Skills: Good team-working and quick learning skills.
• Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong presentation skills.

Good to Have:

• Site Reliability Engineering background.
• Experience with OpenShift Admin Console, GitOps, and creating/deploying Tekton Pipelines and Tasks.
• Experience in creating new dashboards in tools like Grafana and Kibana for issue resolution and prevention.
• Cloud Native Technologies: Knowledge of DevOps concepts and a strong appetite to learn on the job.
• Familiarity with technologies such as OpenShift/Kubernetes, Tekton, ArgoCD/GitOps, Elasticsearch/Kibana, Prometheus/Grafana, Istio, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Advanced Cluster Management, VmWare, Ceph/OpenShift Data Foundation/SDS, Software-Defined-Networking (SDN), HashiCorp Vault, Open-Policy-Agent, Artifactory, and BitBucket.
