We are working with an exciting and pioneering internet service provider (ISP) based in the southeastern United States, particularly focused on providing high-speed fiber optic internet to residents and businesses in the region.

We have an amazing opportunity to join this pioneering company as their Vice President of PMO, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of our project management initiatives. This leadership position requires a seasoned professional with a proven track record in leading large-scale and complex project portfolios. 

As a key member of their executive team, you will provide vision, governance, and strategic oversight to ensure the successful delivery of projects in alignment with organizational objectives.


Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and articulate the strategic vision for the PMO, aligning project initiatives with overall organizational goals.
    • Collaborate with executive leadership to integrate project management strategies into the broader business strategy.
  • Governance and Standards:
    • Establish and enforce project management methodologies, standards, and governance processes.
    • Provide oversight to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Portfolio Management:
    • Lead the development and maintenance of a comprehensive project portfolio that aligns with business priorities.
    • Provide guidance on portfolio optimization, risk management, and resource allocation strategies.
  • Executive Communication:
    • Communicate effectively with executive leadership, presenting project updates, risks, and strategic recommendations.
    • Serve as a key advisor to the executive team on project-related matters.
  • Resource Management:
    • Oversee resource allocation, ensuring the efficient and effective use of personnel, technology, and other resources across the project portfolio.
    • Develop and implement resource management strategies to support organizational objectives.
  • Performance Metrics and Reporting:
    • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the PMO, providing regular reports to executive leadership.
    • Implement robust reporting mechanisms to track project progress, risks, and outcomes.
  • Talent Development:
    • Lead and mentor a high-performing team of project managers and project support professionals.
    • Drive talent development initiatives, including training programs and succession planning.

Skills/Must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Proven experience (10+ years) in a leadership role within a PMO or project management function.
  • Executive-level communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking and decision-making abilities.
  • Extensive knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive organizational change and innovation.
  • PMP Certification or ability to attain one.
