The company is currently on the lookout for an Assembly Technician to join a manufacturing environment on a 12-month contract. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately assembling, testing, inspecting, and troubleshooting electro-mechanical products and components, working confidently from technical drawings using a range of hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment. The role also involves diagnosing and resolving assembly faults, replacing defective components, and ensuring all completed products meet required quality, safety, and performance standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Assemble mechanical and electro-mechanical components in accordance with technical drawings, specifications, and assembly instructions.
  • Build and assemble a range of electro-mechanical products and sub-assemblies.
  • Test completed assemblies to ensure correct operation, functionality, and performance.
  • Inspect assemblies and components to identify defects, faults, or quality issues.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot assembly and equipment faults.
  • Replace defective or damaged components where required.
  • Carry out basic maintenance and checks on machinery, tools, and assembly equipment.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and specialist assembly equipment safely and effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of testing, faults, repairs, and completed work where required.
  • Work closely with colleagues and other teams to resolve technical and assembly issues.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with relevant quality, health and safety, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.


Skills/Must Have:

  • 3–5 years' experience in an assembly, manufacturing, engineering, or electro-mechanical environment.
  • Experience assembling mechanical or electro-mechanical products.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and assembly specifications.
  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment.
  • Experience with testing, inspection, fault-finding, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good practical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.


Working Pattern:

  • Monday - Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Friday: 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM


Salary:

  • £15 - £20 per hour
