Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity?

Join the UK’s leading independent high-performance computing and cloud consultancy, founded in 2004 and supporting businesses across the globe. Covering the whole HPC and cloud lifecycle, from strategy and business case development to procurement support, commissioning, and migration, it is trusted to give impartial advice to some of the largest users of computing power in the UK.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Business Development Managers to open new doors across the public sector, academia, research, and industry. The ideal candidate will be a true hunter, generating their own pipeline, winning net-new clients, and positioning the firm as the trusted, vendor-neutral advisor on high performance computing strategy, procurement, and delivery, with the support of a small team of HPC specialists.

Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity and apply today!

Responsibilities:

  • Own new business generation end to end, from prospecting and outbound outreach to qualification, proposal and close
  • Build and execute a targeted account plan across universities, research councils, public sector bodies and commercial HPC and AI users
  • Develop and manage a healthy, forecastable pipeline, tracking activity and conversion in the CRM
  • Position the firm’s consultancy, procurement and strategy services in front of senior stakeholders, including CIOs, research directors and heads of infrastructure
  • Work closely with technical consultants to shape compelling proposals, bids and tender responses
  • Represent the firm at industry events, conferences and user groups, and build a strong network across the UK HPC community

Skills/Must have:

  • Proven track record of winning new business in HPC, research computing or a closely related enterprise technology market (typically 3 to 5+ years in sales)
  • Credible understanding of HPC, including compute, storage, networking and the research and AI workloads they support, with existing relationships or an established network in the sector
  • Structured, consultative sales approach (such as MEDDICC or Challenger), with experience navigating long, complex sales cycles including public sector procurement and frameworks
  • A genuine hunter mentality, self-starting, resilient and comfortable with cold outreach, with the credibility to hold technical conversations at senior level

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience selling services or consultancy rather than hardware alone
  • Familiarity with UK public sector frameworks and tender processes
  • Exposure to AI infrastructure, GPU computing or cloud HPC
  • Existing relationships across UK universities, research councils or national labs

Benefits:

  • Uncapped commission

Salary:

  • Up to £80k basic (Flexible) + Double OTE
