This opportunity is for a Data Center Field Asset Manager to oversee the operational performance and reliability of critical electrical infrastructure across multiple sites. This hands-on role involves regular travel between data centers, working closely with on-site teams and contractors to support maintenance, inspect equipment, and ensure assets are operated safely and efficiently while contributing to long-term asset management and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct frequent on-site visits across multiple data center locations to assess condition, performance, and reliability of critical electrical infrastructure
  • Oversee day-to-day field execution of maintenance activities for HV/MV systems, substations, transformers, UPS/SAI systems, generators, and associated electrical assets
  • Perform hands-on inspections, walkdowns, and technical checks of installed equipment and infrastructure
  • Support lifecycle management through physical asset verification, condition assessments, and field-based reporting
  • Ensure maintenance contractors are executing work in line with technical standards, safety procedures, and agreed SLAs
  • Identify, escalate, and track operational risks, defects, and asset degradation observed in the field
  • Support incident management processes through on-site response, technical troubleshooting, and coordination of corrective actions
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities following operational failures or critical incidents
  • Support commissioning, testing, and handover of new electrical infrastructure within live environments
  • Monitor contractor performance on-site, ensuring quality of workmanship and adherence to maintenance plans
  • Provide practical, field-based input to central engineering and asset management teams to support design improvements and operational optimisation
  • Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and operational procedures across all site activities
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of maintenance practices based on real operational and site-based feedback


Skills/Must Have:

  • Strong practical understanding of HV/MV electrical infrastructure and mission-critical systems
  • Hands-on, onsite experience in electrical maintenance, operations, or technical field engineering roles
  • Ability to work directly with equipment, interpret technical documentation, and perform site-based inspections
  • Experience working alongside contractors in live industrial, energy, or critical environments
  • Strong problem-solving ability in operational, field-based scenarios
  • Comfortable making practical, on-the-ground technical decisions under pressure
  • Good communication skills with both technical teams and operational stakeholders
  • Highly proactive, organised, and comfortable working independently across multiple sites
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly between data center locations across Spain
  • Grado Superior (Higher Vocational Training) or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline
  • Strong preference for candidates with a practical, onsite background in electrical environments
  • 3–8+ years of experience in electrical maintenance, operations, or field-based engineering roles
  • Previous experience in data centers, substations, utilities, energy companies, industrial plants, or critical infrastructure environments
  • Exposure to working with OEMs, contractors, or maintenance providers in live operational environments
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and operational discipline in high-risk environments
  • Fluent English required (minimum B2 level)
