Responsibilities:
- Take over ownership of the Physical Data Center environment, managing all racking, stacking, and precision wiring as the footprint scales from 3 to 5 racks.
- Support the wider team as the primary point of contact for internal IT and office technology, ensuring seamless communication and hardware troubleshooting.
- Manage hardware lifecycles, including the installation of new servers and switches and the secure decommissioning/recycling of legacy equipment.
- Lead cabling and connectivity projects, maintaining high standards of organization and documentation for all internal equipment.
- Collaborate directly with the founding team to transition daily infrastructure operations and implement scalable processes.
- Monitor and optimize local resources, including power distribution and cooling within the Santa Clara colocation space.
- Perform "remote hands" tasks and initial device staging to support ongoing technical operations.
Skills/Must Have:
- Foundational experience in Data Center operations or a similar hardware-centric environment (racking, cabling, and hardware maintenance).
- Strong soft skills and communication, with the ability to act as a helpful technical resource for the wider internal team.
- Hands-on mechanical aptitude—a "doer" who takes pride in organized, precision wiring and physical facility management.
- Startup mentality, comfortable working in a small-scale, fast-paced environment where you own the results.
- Physical presence in Santa Clara, with the ability to be onsite daily to manage the facility and hardware requirements.
