The European AI cloud provider is looking for a Site Manager to take ownership of one of its flagship AI data centers in Hamburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the facility, leading local teams, managing vendors, and ensuring the reliability, availability, and security of the infrastructure supporting large-scale AI training, inference, and high-performance computing (HPC) workloads.

The role will lead operations within one of Europe's most advanced AI data centre environments, supporting infrastructure powered by thousands of NVIDIA GPUs. Working closely with leadership, engineering, and construction teams, the successful candidate will take ownership of a critical facility while helping to shape operational standards as the organisation continues its global expansion.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the day-to-day operation of the Hamburg data centre facility.
  • Lead and develop on-site Data Centre Operations and IT teams.
  • Manage vendor relationships, maintenance providers, and third-party contractors.
  • Ensure the availability and reliability of critical infrastructure, including power, cooling, and IT systems.
  • Drive operational excellence through SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, and best practice processes.
  • Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and service restoration activities.
  • Oversee capacity planning, infrastructure upgrades, and site expansion projects.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, security, and operational standards.
  • Track KPIs relating to uptime, service delivery, operational efficiency, and site performance.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for site-related operational issues.


Skills / Must Have:

  • Experience managing operations within a data centre, colocation, hyperscale, cloud, or critical infrastructure environment.
  • Strong understanding of mission-critical facilities, including UPS, generators, cooling systems, and electrical infrastructure.
  • Experience leading technical operations, facilities, or site teams.
  • Knowledge of incident management, change management, and operational governance.
  • Experience managing vendors, contractors, and service providers.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Understanding of data centre IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, and networking, would be advantageous.
  • Experience within AI, HPC, cloud, or hyperscale environments would be highly beneficial.
