Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity?
Join a global space and satellite solutions provider delivering resilient connectivity and high-quality services through integrated satellite systems and a worldwide network. The company supports governments, businesses, and communities with advanced space technology and industry expertise.
The company is seeking a high-caliber Director to serve as the primary technical authority for a generation-defining MEO constellation. This is a "Chief Engineer" profile role designed for a leader who thrives in a startup-style environment but possesses the strategic depth to navigate a major global program. The role bridges the gap between traditional aerospace excellence and "New Space" agility, moving away from legacy playbooks to build a modular, high-performance network from the ground up. Reporting to the SVP of Programmes, you will be the "glue" that integrates the bus, payload and manufacturing lifecycle to ensure the whole is more than the sum of its parts.
If you are a hands-on technical leader ready to define the scope, hire your own team, and deliver a global constellation, this is your next mission.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the lead for the integrated satellite, ensuring the design meets performance, cost, and schedule requirements while managing the interface between the bus and payload.
- Oversee the end-to-end assembly, integration, and testing (AI&T) flows; you must be comfortable on the factory floor giving direction to testing teams.
- Manage complex launch campaigns, from environmental ground testing through to in-orbit commissioning.
- Directly oversee major bus contractors and suppliers (e.g., K2 Space), managing system specifications, SOWs, and the final acceptance process.
- Partner with Manufacturing leads to design production flows for series manufacturing across European and US facilities.
- Implement modern tools (AI/ML, MBSE, Digital Twins) to manage performance vs. cost and mitigate technical risks.
Skills/Must have:
- Highly dynamic and creative; you prefer agile, iterative development over traditional, rigid aerospace playbooks.
- Proven experience in building, testing, and managing satellite launch campaigns from a hardware perspective.
- 10+ years of technical leadership with the ability to manage both high-level people and deep technical trades.
- Ability to operate across teams, recognizing peers as equals to build a cohesive global network.
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) and a deep understanding of LEO/MEO/GEO payload-bus integration and verticalization.
- Demonstrated success in exercising strict financial, schedule, and quality control over external mission partners.
Benefits:
- Ideal location in Luxembourg (alternatively Washington D.C.) with international travel roughly every 6-8 weeks to stay connected to US-based manufacturing.
- The mandate to come in and figure out the scope of the role, then define and hire your own dedicated team.
- Competitive equity package and a 20% performance bonus on top of a top-tier base salary.
- 60% onsite (3 days a week) to balance high-touch factory/office collaboration with personal flexibility.
- Lead a project that is literally building the future of global connectivity through a next-gen MEO constellation.
Salary:
- Europe: €165,000 – €180,000 + 20% Bonus + Equity
- USA: $230,000 – $250,000 + 20% Bonus + Equity
