A newly created opportunity exists for an Electrical Engineer to join a leading independent consultancy's global Mission Critical Facilities team, delivering integrated data centre designs for clients. The ideal candidate will take ownership of electrical work packages across multiple projects, designing LV, MV, and HV power distribution, UPS, storage, and redundancy systems, as well as fire protection, intrusion, and access control. Working within a multidisciplinary team spanning electrical, mechanical, civil, structural, and fire safety, they will lead risk management, technical assessments, and commissioning protocols, while also writing technical specifications and reporting project status to clients and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and deliver all electrical work packages across multiple projects
  • Define scope, design and management objectives, and deliver complete project documentation
  • Design LV, MV and HV power distribution, energy storage, redundancy and uninterruptible power supply systems
  • Ensure the quality and flow of information to contractors, vendors and regulatory authorities
  • Write technical specifications, reports and tender documentation
  • Lead risk management, technical assessments, and testing and commissioning protocols
  • Represent the business at factory acceptance tests and site testing and commissioning
  • Report project status to internal directors and clients, both formally and ad hoc
  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships, supporting continuous technical development
  • Contribute to improving internal business processes and sharing knowledge within the discipline


Skills/Must have:

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical design and/or installation
  • Good knowledge of standard design and construction industry practice
  • Licence to design (electrical specialisation)
  • Experience with complex engineering calculations – short circuit studies, discrimination studies, LPS risk assessments
  • Good understanding of the day-to-day operational business of construction industry clients
  • Entrepreneurial, result-oriented, proactive and flexible, with a positive problem-solving attitude
  • Fluent German
