This company is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join its Raleigh team, working alongside an experienced engineering group to design and deliver complex electrical infrastructure for major data center projects across the US. Responsibilities:
- Design electrical power systems for hyperscale, colocation and enterprise data center projects.
- Produce electrical construction documents including single-line diagrams, power distribution layouts and equipment schedules.
- Design medium and low voltage distribution systems, UPS systems, standby generators and mission critical electrical infrastructure.
- Perform load calculations, short circuit, coordination and arc flash studies.
- Coordinate designs with mechanical, plumbing, fire protection and technology teams.
- Attend client meetings, design reviews and project coordination sessions.
- Support construction administration through RFIs, submittal reviews and site visits.
- Assist with commissioning, system validation and project close-out activities.
- Ensure designs comply with NEC, NFPA and client-specific standards.
- Support junior engineers and contribute to the continued growth of the Mission Critical team.
Skills/Must Have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 4+ years' experience designing electrical systems for mission critical, data center or large commercial projects.
- Strong understanding of medium voltage, low voltage and critical power distribution.
- Experience designing UPS, generators, switchgear, transformers and standby power systems.
- Knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD and SKM or ETAP.
- Understanding of NEC, NFPA 70 and applicable electrical codes.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work directly with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
- EIT certification preferred.
- PE licence or the ability to obtain one is highly desirable.
