This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Energy Marshal with a strong background in electrical safety and Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) procedures. The role involves ensuring energization and hazardous energy activities are carried out safely, compliantly, and to the highest industry standards across major mission-critical construction projects. Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the site's Energy Marshal, overseeing all electrical energy isolation and LOTO activities throughout construction and commissioning.
  • Develop, review and enforce Energy Isolation Plans (EIPs), switching procedures and project-specific energisation plans.
  • Coordinate all planned energisation activities between contractors, commissioning teams, clients and site management.
  • Ensure all Lock Out/Tag Out procedures are implemented correctly and safely before work commences.
  • Verify permits, switching documentation and electrical safety paperwork prior to energisation.
  • Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, NEC and client safety requirements.
  • Support commissioning activities while ensuring safe energisation of electrical systems including switchgear, UPS systems, generators and critical infrastructure.
  • Lead safety briefings, toolbox talks and provide technical guidance on hazardous energy control.
  • Investigate electrical safety incidents, near misses and non-conformances, implementing corrective actions where required.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records relating to all energy isolation and energisation activities.


Skills/Must Have:

  • Previous experience as an Energy Marshal, LOTO Coordinator, Electrical Safety Coordinator, Authorised Person (AP) or similar electrical safety role.
  • Experience working on data centers, mission critical, industrial, utility or large-scale electrical construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) procedures and hazardous energy control.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70E, OSHA regulations and the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Experience working around electrical distribution systems including switchgear, UPS, generators, transformers and critical power infrastructure.
  • Ability to read electrical one-line diagrams and switching procedures.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work alongside multiple contractors and stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and stay away from home during the working week.
