Our client is a global leader in intelligent transportation technology, delivering innovative solutions that help millions of people travel safely and efficiently every day. 

They are now looking for a Field Services Technician to join their engineering team, supporting critical transport infrastructure across London and the surrounding areas.

This is a field-based role working on electromechanical systems within a highly regulated rail environment. The successful candidate will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, and repairs, playing a key role in keeping essential transport services operating safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out fault finding, repairs, and preventative maintenance on transport and gate systems.
  • Complete planned and reactive maintenance across the London transport network.
  • Work independently while adhering to strict safety and compliance procedures.
  • Record completed work and update job information using a tablet-based system.
  • Manage allocated stock, tools, and equipment.
  • Attend team briefings and depot visits when required.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Recognised qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronic Engineering.
  • Minimum of three years' engineering experience.
  • Full UK driving licence with no more than six penalty points.
  • Previous experience working night shifts for applicants interested in night roles.
  • Willingness to work within a regulated rail environment, including drug and alcohol screening.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working with motors, gears, belts, pulleys, or other electromechanical systems.
  • Background in transport, parking systems, fare collection equipment, vending machines, or white goods engineering.
  • Ex-military engineering experience would be advantageous.

Salary and Benefits 

  • £35,400 basic salary.
  • Night shift allowance of approximately £3,600 per annum.
  • Overtime available, with realistic earnings of up to £43,000.
