The organization is expanding its team and is looking to appoint a Private Cloud Engineer to work on secure, mission-critical private cloud environments supporting UK Defence. The ideal candidate will work hands-on with modern virtualisation platforms, automation tooling, and DevSecOps practices, directly influencing how resilient infrastructure is delivered and operated, with hybrid working available.

Responsibilities:

• Design, deliver, and support VMware-based virtualised infrastructure, ensuring environments are reliable, scalable, and secure. Implement and enhance automation for provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management across Windows and Linux platforms, reducing manual intervention and improving consistency.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and supporting tooling to improve the quality and speed of infrastructure and platform delivery. Support containerised workloads and hybrid cloud services with a focus on availability, performance, and security.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through scripting and infrastructure-as-code approaches. Collaborate with architects and delivery teams in Agile environments, embedding security best practices into day-to-day engineering activities. Maintain clear technical documentation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the infrastructure estate.
