Join a global telecommunications organization developing a next-generation satellite network, with the core architecture already designed and now moving into deployment, turn-up, monitoring, and operational support. The network is expanding from around 30 ground stations to more than 40 sites, with optical connectivity into major data center environments and demanding enterprise SLAs.

This company is looking for a Senior WAN Network Engineer to support the deployment and operation of the greenfield network. The hands-on role involves BGP, DWDM/wave circuits, EVPN/VXLAN, Equinix connectivity, network observability, troubleshooting, and performance management, working closely with the network architecture team as the environment moves towards production.

Responsibilities:

  • Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot the global WAN environment
  • Support migration from EIGRP toward BGP-based routing
  • Configure and troubleshoot BGP across edge and LAN environments
  • Support existing EVPN/VXLAN data center fabrics
  • Turn up and troubleshoot DWDM/wave and point-to-point circuits
  • Support connectivity between ground stations and Equinix data centers
  • Monitor packet loss, latency, congestion, capacity, and network performance
  • Use flow analytics, telemetry, synthetic testing, and other observability tools
  • Troubleshoot WAN issues and drive rapid fault resolution
  • Work with carriers on circuit turn-up, outages, and escalations
  • Maintain network configurations, documentation, standards, and runbooks
  • Support resilient and diverse network connectivity across ground station locations
  • The wider environment includes BGP, EVPN/VXLAN, Equinix Fabric, leased wave services, SD-WAN, cloud interconnectivity, and SLA-focused network observability.


Skills/Must Have:

  • Strong hands-on BGP deployment and troubleshooting
  • Strong experience with DWDM / leased wave circuits
  • Good understanding of EVPN/VXLAN
  • Strong WAN engineering and troubleshooting background
  • Experience turning up and troubleshooting carrier circuits
  • Network monitoring/observability experience
  • Experience monitoring latency, packet loss, congestion, and capacity
  • Cisco routing and switching experience
  • Understanding of resilient and redundant network design
  • Experience working in uptime/SLA-driven environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
  • Must meet U.S. person requirements for export-controlled technology/data access
