This opportunity is for a Lead Architect to join the Mission Critical Facilities team, supporting the design and delivery of large-scale international data center projects. The role involves leading multidisciplinary teams, overseeing complex architectural projects, and contributing to the development of sustainable, mission-critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and communicate across all design disciplines — architecture, mechanical, electrical, civil, plumbing, infrastructure, building physics, and fire safety — as well as directly with clients
  • Lead and manage a team of modellers and engineers, overseeing production of all drawings, reports, and technical specifications across each design phase (RIBA Stage 1 through to RIBA Stage 4 and handover)
  • Conduct design reviews and quality control across all produced documents
  • Provide risk analysis input and contribute to sign-off at key project milestones
  • Manage collaboration between lead engineers and their discipline teams across the full project timeline
  • Draft and review technical documents, environmental permit applications, and tender documents
  • Safeguard and share architectural knowledge across the wider team
  • Propose design optimisation suggestions and drive best practice from an architectural perspective


Skills/Must Have:

  • 20+ years of relevant experience in architecture, with a strong background in complex, large-scale projects
  • Data centre or mission-critical facilities experience is highly desirable
  • Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams and manage end-to-end design processes
  • Experience working across all RIBA stages through to construction handover
  • Proficiency in BIM360 and Revit
  • Knowledge of Dutch building regulations and experience with environmental permit applications
  • Strong coordination, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Fluent in Dutch and English
