The organization is currently on the lookout for a Facilities and Maintenance Contractor to take ownership of day-to-day facilities and maintenance operations at its Ware site. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently, managing external contacts, and staying on top of site issues as they arise.

Responsibilities:

• Acting as the on-site point of contact for maintenance and facilities matters
• Liaising with the site's facilities management provider to arrange and coordinate maintenance callouts
• Communicating regularly via email and phone to schedule works, chase updates, and resolve issues
• Conducting on-site checks and inspections of reported issues, escalating where necessary
• Arranging collection and management of waste on site
• Keeping accurate records of maintenance requests, callouts, and resolutions
• Supporting general upkeep of the site, flagging any health & safety concerns
• Some heavy lifting may be required as part of general site duties

Skills/Must Have:

• Previous experience in maintenance, facilities administration, or building maintenance
• Strong communication skills, comfortable liaising with external providers by phone and email
• Well organised, able to manage multiple ongoing issues at once
• Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word); experience with Google Suite is an advantage
• Physically able to carry out light-to-moderate manual handling when required
• Self-motivated and comfortable working independently onsite with flexible hours

Contract Details:

• Location: Onsite, Ware
• Contract Length: 9 months (with potential for extension)
• Hours: Flexible, approx. 4–5 hours per day, Monday–Friday
• Start Date: ASAP

Salary:

• £25 per hour
