The organization is currently on the lookout for a Mechanical Data Center Specialist to support major data centre commissioning projects across the US. The ideal candidate will perform quality verification inspections throughout the mechanical commissioning process, reviewing documentation and inspecting critical infrastructure such as chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and CRAH/CRAC units for compliance with project specifications. The role also involves supporting testing, adjusting, and balancing activities, tracking punch list items, and working closely with project managers, commissioning teams, and contractors throughout delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Perform quality verification inspections throughout the mechanical commissioning process across mission critical data center projects.
• Review commissioning documentation to ensure compliance with project specifications, approved submittals, design requirements and applicable industry standards.
• Complete and manage mechanical commissioning deliverables including equipment receiving inspections, installation verification reports, pressure testing documentation, flushing reports, TAB reports, start-up documentation and functional performance testing records.
• Inspect and verify the installation, start-up and operation of critical mechanical infrastructure including chillers, cooling towers, pumps, heat exchangers, CRAH/CRAC units, air handling equipment and hydronic piping systems.
• Review mechanical equipment installation for alignment with approved drawings, specifications, manufacturer requirements and commissioning documentation.
• Support verification of mechanical controls, sequences of operation and BMS integration during the commissioning process.
• Carry out inspections at key project milestones using quality control software and commissioning checklists.
• Assist with the verification of testing, adjusting and balancing (TAB), hydronic system flushing, pressure testing and equipment start-up activities.
• Upload and maintain commissioning records, readiness reports and project documentation within the project management system.
• Assist with tracking, documenting and resolving project punch list items, deficiencies and open commissioning issues.
• Work closely with project managers, commissioning teams, mechanical contractors, controls teams and client representatives throughout project delivery.
• Maintain high quality standards while supporting successful system commissioning, integrated testing and project turnover.

Skills/Must Have:

• Previous experience within mechanical construction, commissioning or quality assurance on mission critical or large commercial/industrial projects.
• Strong understanding of mechanical HVAC and cooling systems and their associated commissioning processes.
• Experience with equipment such as chillers, cooling towers, pumps, CRAH/CRAC units, air handling units, heat exchangers and hydronic piping systems.
• Understanding of mechanical controls, BMS systems and sequences of operation is highly desirable.
• Experience reviewing mechanical installation quality, commissioning documentation and equipment start-up procedures.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, equipment schedules, project specifications and equipment submittals.
• Knowledge of testing, adjusting and balancing (TAB), pressure testing, flushing and functional performance testing is beneficial.
• Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Comfortable working on active construction sites and collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, relevant mechanical trade qualification or equivalent field experience preferred.
• Previous data center or mission critical experience is highly desirable.
• Willingness to travel extensively (up to 100%) to project sites across the US.

Salary:

• Up to $185,000 per year
