The company is looking for a PE-licensed Senior Mechanical Engineer to take on a client-facing leadership role across complex engineering projects. Acting as the Engineer of Record, the successful candidate will lead project delivery, mentor engineering teams, and serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and architects while driving technical excellence, design coordination, and engineering standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as Engineer of Record on dedicated projects
  • Represent the firm in all interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and project team members
  • Supervise, coordinate, and assign projects across the engineering team (system design and project engineering)
  • Establish design standards, specifications, and criteria for projects
  • Lead and supervise staff, providing periodic objective employee evaluations
  • Lead and supervise coordination meetings
  • Manage construction administration duties, field reports, RFI responses, bulletins, and addenda
  • Prepare proposals and administer project contracts, including additional service agreements
  • Coordinate with accounting on monthly invoices and monitor project accounts receivable
  • Assist the Technical Manager and Chief Engineer with technical training and staff mentoring
  • Participate in budgeting, scheduling, staff management, and the firmwide Expert Teams committee


Skills / Must Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Current PE registration (requirement)
  • 12+ years' experience in a consulting firm within the MEP engineering industry
  • 3 years' supervisory experience
  • Healthcare design experience (required)
  • Hands-on design and CAD/REVIT experience, this is a strong technical role
  • A background across Critical Facilities, Commercial, and Aviation projects would be a strong fit; Mission Critical, Science & Technology, and Project Management experience a plus
