Mobile Core Engineer - Internet Service Provider

The organization is expanding its team and is looking to appoint an Ericsson Mobile Core Engineer to manage, maintain, and support an all-Ericsson mobile core environment. This is a back office engineering and operations role, covering operational support, incident management, fault resolution, and cross-functional coordination with the NOC and non-technical stakeholders. Relocation to Gibraltar, or to Spain within about an hour of the site, is a requirement of the role.

Responsibilities:

• Managing and maintaining Ericsson mobile core network elements across the full operational environment
• Providing daily operational support, incident management, and fault resolution for the mobile core network
• Liaising with the NOC, sales teams, and non-technical stakeholders to coordinate responses to customer issues and escalations
• Investigating and resolving complex roaming and interconnect issues as a typical example of escalation activity
• Participating in the on-call rota - one week in every three - with physical attendance required for hardware replacement where necessary
• Contributing to the continuous improvement and integrity of an all-Ericsson end-to-end ecosystem

Skills/Must Have:

• Recent, active, hands-on Ericsson mobile core experience - this is the single most important requirement for this role. 
• Experience with Ericsson core nodes, the more of these the better! :
  • MSC-S, M-MGw, STP
  • CSCF, MTAS, SBC and BGF
  • HLR-FE, AuC-FE, MNP-FE, HSS-FE
• Relevant mobile core engineering experience; 8-12 years considered where Ericsson core experience is current and strong
• Hybrid engineering and operational profile - NOC coordination, incident management, and cross-functional communication are core parts of the day-to-day role alongside technical delivery
• Willingness and ability to relocate to Gibraltar or to Spain within approximately one hour of the site

Desirable Skills:

• Already based in Spain or Gibraltar
• Background at a telco operator rather than purely on the vendor side
• Comfortable with regular on-call rotations

Salary:
