The company is currently on the lookout for a Network and Systems Engineer to join its team. The successful candidate will maintain and optimize regional network and security infrastructure while supporting core Linux systems and virtualization platforms. Key responsibilities include managing firewalls, conducting vulnerability assessments, and providing second- and third-level technical support across active and passive network components. Additionally, the ideal candidate will implement IT security projects, maintain compliance documentation, and participate in incident management across facility sites.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver customer requirements and operate, maintain and expand network and security infrastructure
• Provide 2nd and 3rd level support across network and network security
• Administer Linux systems, virtualization environments and backup solutions
• Support firewall management and Linux monitoring for internal projects
• Apply core networking fundamentals (subnetting, VLANs) as part of day-to-day operations
• Analyse, plan and implement IT security projects
• Administer active and passive network components, including fault analysis and troubleshooting
• Run vulnerability scans and report security incidents/phishing events
• Maintain network security documentation in line with internal processes and certification requirements
• Contribute to change, problem and incident management
• Maintain and develop system and documentation landscape
• Support internal and external audits
• Participate in pre-agreed on-call periods
• Travel between sites as required for project work

Skills/Must have:

• Strong Linux skills 
• Solid grounding in networking fundamentals (subnetting, VLANs); deeper networking knowledge a plus
• Experience with virtualization and backup technologies
• Experience with firewalls and Linux monitoring tools
• German language proficiency at B2 level or above (essential)
• Driving licence required, with flexibility for travel and overnight stays between sites
• Analytical, structured approach with strong customer and service orientation
• Good communication skills in German and English, spoken and written
